Circle Line becomes Lasso Line?

Neil has emailed in to say:

I see the Circle Line is extending. It doesn't go in a circle any more - surely it should now be called the 'Spiral Line' instead!

Neil's referring to the Circle Line of the London Underground, of course. And apparently (at least according to the Evening Standard) the line is now being referred to as the 'Lasso Line' - hey, at least it alliterates.

The extended Circle Line on the London Underground, or Tube, could be called the Lasso LineThe Lasso Line?

To me, at this moment, it looks more like a bottle on its side, with a bendy straw stuck in the wrong end.

'Lasso line' is definitely catchier.

I'm surprised they didn't rename it to remove the stigma of it rarely working or having constant engineering works!

A letter-writer in today's Evening Standard suggests that the extended Circle Line looks like a hairdryer. Not sure about that one...

The Evening Standard seems to be on a roll at the moment - one of its writers last night referred to the new Circle Line as "The Yo Yo of Despair".
