It's very difficult to make out, but the small text underneath the coffee mug reads: "Food photography for visual purposes only."
So there you go - you're not allowed to sniff or eat the photo.

An old favourite is "for illustrative (or illustration) purposes only". What on earth else would an illustration be for? Of course the meaning is "we get to lie our arses off in this picture and it's OK because we've included the magic talisman phrase that you have know how to read between the lines of". Crazy world we live in.
