Once cooked, serve

The four-step cooking instructions for Sainsbury's 'Taste the Difference' Moussaka climax with:

4. Once cooked, serve.

I'd like to think that's what I would do unless specifically told otherwise.

And yes, there have been a lot of food-related posts on The Engine Room recently...

But what if I want to eat it all myself? And right out the container its cooked in. Can Step 4 then be eliminated? I mean serving implies that you're going to move it out of the cooking dish and onto a plate for either yourself or others to eat.

I think it probably means "don't let it sit - serve right away".

Then again, they could have said that.

This reminds me of a story I heard (urban myth?) from the States in which ladder companies started printing STOP HERE on the top rung after someone kept going and then fell off a roof.

Blue - I suppose you could serve it at the table in its container...

The Ridger - yes, I'm sure you're right. But who would let a tasty, hot moussaka sit unless they were specifically told to do so?
