What, as opposed to metaphorical use?

I also love how the text is left-aligned (ragged right, if you prefer to call it that) rather than centred. It gives the sign a certain poetical quality.

I'm half a headline, get me out of here...

Right. After today I'm going to stop picking on the freesheets for a while.

Spotted this on page three of yesterday's London Lite (and sorry about my wonky cutting and scanning):

Scan from the London Lite, 18 November 2008

Yes, there's part of the headline missing. Is this an honest mistake (and we've all made them) or the result of a sub trying to suggest that the celebrities in reality show I'm a Celebrity... are actually nonentities?

(For those who can't see the scan, the headline reads: "Deadly storms threat to the I'm A ".)

Here's a snap I took a couple of months back of a billboard near my office:

The web address on the billboard advert reads www.kateatkinson.co.uk, with the 'atkinson' in bold

This advert's interesting because of the subtle use of bold in the web address. It's easy to separate www.kateatkinson.co.uk into its component parts:

www
kate
atkinson
co
uk

With www.kateatkinson.co.uk (the unbolded version), the task is much harder and a reader may well come up with (for example):

www
kat
eat
kinson
co
uk

(Kate Atkinson is an English novelist; I think this advert was promoting her latest novel, When Will There be Good News?.)
